Pets are no longer just companions; they’re living it up in ways many
humans can only dream of! With the rise of luxury pet parenting, animals are being treated to designer outfits, fancy grooming, and even custom-made accessories. The industry has gone upscale, and these owners are here to tell us how their furry friends are living their best lives.
Arjun Rao, a 26-year-old student from MIT World Peace University, Pune,
pursuing a degree in Computer Science, is very attached to his pug (A pug
is a small, muscular dog breed with a wrinkled face and curled tail.),
Bruno. “Bruno loves going on weekend trips with me,” he shares. “I make
sure to plan our trips around pet-friendly spots, like Lonavala and
Khandala, and I even booked a special pet-friendly hotel, The Westin
Pune, for our last getaway,” Arjun adds, “I also got him a personalized ID
tag and a cozy travel carrier for our adventures. Sometimes, I feel like I’m
planning more for his comfort than my own!”
Stanzin Lahmo, a 25-year-old software engineer from Bangalore, also
treats her Golden Retriever, Max, to the finer things. “Max loves his walks,
but I make sure he gets the best food and treats,” Stanzin explains. “I
recently switched him to a premium brand of dog food, Hill’s Science Diet,
which costs about ₹2,500 for a 7 kg pack, a lot more than regular pet
food. Honestly, it feels like I’m spending as much on him as I do on my
own groceries!”
Tara Joshi, a 21-year-old student from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai,
pursuing a degree in B.A. in English Literature, is also a proud pet parent
to Momo, her cat. “Momo has a variety of toys, and a new scratching post
was recently bought for her. She loves it! Special catnip treats are also
given to her. I want her to feel loved and comfortable, which spoiling her a
little brings me joy,” Tara says with a smile. As a student, affordable yet
high-quality products for Momo are searched for by Tara, and pet care
tips are often browsed on Instagram. The scratching post was purchased
from Amazon, and it cost around ₹1,200.
Dev Verma, a 26-year-old B.Sc. Computer Science student from Pune
University, loves his pug Bruno dearly. “Bruno has a collection of sweaters
for the winter, and I make sure he gets the best food. I even buy him
special treats,” Dev shares. “It’s not just about the clothes or accessories,
though. I want to make sure he’s well-fed and cared for. Honestly,
sometimes I think his food budget is higher than my own!”

Pets are now living better than ever, from luxury grooming to custom outfits, and animal owners are embracing the trend. With the growing luxury pet market, furry companions are getting pampered in ways many of us can only imagine. The love for our four-legged friends has turned into a full-on lifestyle, one that’s stylish, fun, and absolutely fabulous!
