Dreams don’t work unless you do! A vision board is a reminder, not a shortcut to success.

In a world full of distractions, it’s easy to lose focus on your goals. We set intentions, make resolutions, and dream big, yet somewhere along the way, we get caught up in our daily hustle and forget what truly matters. This is where vision boards come in a simple yet powerful tool to help visualise our dreams and turn them into reality.

“I genuinely believed that seeing my goals daily would push me toward them, but after a year, nothing had changed. I kept looking at my vision board, hoping it would manifest success, but I wasn’t actively working toward my goals. I realised that without structured steps and consistent effort, it was just a board of dreams, not a path to achievement.”

These are more than just a collage. It’s a project where you put your mind in and set intentions. It not only serves as a daily reminder of what we aspire to have but also helps us stay consistent by aligning our mindset with our goals. A vision board is a visual representation of our goals.
It’s usually a collection of images and quotes, but some spiritualists also use color therapy, sigils, and switch words to manifest their desires. It contains different aspects of life, such as career, health and wellness, relationships, travel, and financial goals. By placing these images on a board and looking at them regularly, you reinforce your focus on these goals.
Kashika Grover, 27, home baker of Makhbiz Bakery, residing in Delhi, shares, “I manifested a Europe trip last year with my husband. I placed our pictures travelling and the map of Europe. It helped me massively work towards my financial goals, and it happened! I went for a 15-day long vacation with my husband and covered major goals.”
It helps bring clarity in situations where we do not exactly know what we want or how it will unfold. Sanya Kumar, 27, a student of economics at Delhi University, shares, “I tried placing the picture of my goals on my study area and viewed it every day as a reminder. I don’t know the science behind it, but I actually manifested getting married this year, and I am already engaged.”
The trend, popularised by global self-help movements and figures like Oprah Winfrey, has found a strong following in India, especially among young professionals and entrepreneurs. However, while many swear by the effectiveness of vision boards, there are also those who find them less impactful.
While vision boards can be a powerful tool for some, serving as a source of motivation and clarity, they may not work for everyone. Success ultimately depends on the effort, strategy, and actions taken beyond just visualisation.
